Brand Design
New Brand identity for Kelham Island, Sheffield based event ‘Chess & Tunes’.
Since its inception Chess & Tunes has attracted a large community of
chess players from a wide variety of backgrounds and abilities to its weekly
event, united by a friendly game of chess, good drinks and great music.
Set in ex-industrial Kelham Island and hosted by contemporary bar Factory
Floor, it promises to be ‘a new wave of chess club’. Key to the brief was
creating a brand that reflected this, inspired by rave posters and set in
modern type, breaking down and reinventing the idea of what a chess club
can be. I created posters and flyers, as well as a wide range of social media
assets.
